This includes looking at upfront fees charged by entertainment and modelling agencies, and suitability checks for permanent recruitment. Also covers proposal to restore Post Graduate Medical Deaneries to their previous position as exempt from employment agency legislation. Consultation period ended 11 June 2009. Closed consultation seeking views on the policy of implementing of the EU Agency Workers Directive. The Directive aims to ensure that the principle of equal treatment in basic working and employment conditions is applied to agency workers. The Government proposes to implement it so that equal treatment applies after a temporary worker has been given a job for 12 weeks. Includes response form and impact assessment.
